Private lessons are available for skaters ages 3 through adult and all skating abilities, including first timers. 

Private Lessons are offered by our Skating School staff on our Public Skating Sessions on Saturdays or Tuesdays. Please see the calendar on the home page for current Public Skating times. 

Lessons are typically 30 minutes but skaters are encouraged to stay for the entire session. 

Lessons for more advanced skaters, hockey players and figure skaters are taught during stick time and freestyle sessions, which are offered regularly March-October.

This form is a request for a lesson. Please use the notes section to include specific information on what type of lesson you are seeking, such as "beginner lesson" or "power skating for hockey". Please note this is a request form with no guarantee of accommodation. 

The price is based on the instructor's fee, as determined by the instructor plus the Public Skating Session fee

The fee for Public Skating is payable at the admission window upon entry to the rink for the session. 
Admission - Adults & Children: $15.00
Admission - Senior Citizens: $6.00
Skate Rental - $5.00

The instructors fee is due at the the time of the lesson.  All coaches are independent contractors who set their own fees and schedule directly with their clients.

Learn to Skate is a group lesson program for ages 4 and up. All classes in the program are 30 minutes.  

Saturday Classes run from 4/18/26 - 6/27/26
No classes on Saturday 5/23

Tuesday Classes run from 4/21/26 - 6/23/26

Skate rental is included (if needed).  

Please use this guide to register your beginner skater:  
- New skaters ages 4-6 should register for Snowplow 1 
- New skaters ages 7 & up should register for Basic 1  

- All skaters will be issued a name tag on their first day of class. The name tag must be worn every week to class and for admission to Public Skating. If the name tag is lost please request a replacement at the office.  

- THERE ARE NO MAKE UPS FOR MISSED CLASSES.  

- Switching between days or time slots is not permitted.  If you need to make a permanent change once the series has begun, please email your request to skatingschool@icehutch.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.  

- Classes with 3 or less participants may be combined or canceled.  

- In the event of snow or inclement weather please check "Important Updates" on www.icehutch.com for cancellations/changes.

-All skating school students are welcome to practice during our Tuesday and Saturday public skating sessions at no additional charge. To gain entry, please simply show your name tag. Each public session lasts 90 minutes. You can find the full schedule on our website calendar. Please be sure to check the calendar regularly for any updates, as the schedule is subject to change.

-All start and end dates for classes can be found on the calendar at www.icehutch.com  

Equipment: 
- Single blade skates are required and available for rental. 

*** HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL SNOWPLOW CLASSES, BASIC 1 and HOCKEY SKATING CLASSES. THE SKATING SCHOOL DOES NOT PROVIDE HELMETS. ***

- Mittens or Gloves 

- The rink temperature will vary. Layered clothing that does not restrict movement is recommended. 

- If you have new skates please make sure they are sharpened before first use. We do not not offer sharpening service on site.

Spring 2026 Learn to Skate

The Freeskate program follows the Learn To Skate USA curriculum, but also aims to build a range of overall skating skills. Foundational skills such as edges, turns, stroking, and extensions are combined in new ways each week. A ten minute wrap up set to music challenges students to strengthen muscles, link movement with breath, and explore musical interpretation. Additionally, this class will begin to prepare skaters for the US Figure Skating Moves In The Field (Skating Skills) Pre-Preliminary and Preliminary tests.

Note: Successful completion of Basic 6 or equivalent is required for participation.
